PCMSS Installation/Setup Instructions
Create a directory named PCMSS on the C: drive
Fire Agency Setup: Copy/Download MSSTCP32.EXE, dispterm.mss,
fire.mss, and agencyspecific.mss files into the C:\PCMSS
directory.
Message Switch Setup: Copy/Download MSSTCP32.EXE, mssterm.mss,
and sancmss.mss files into the C:\PCMSS directory.
Create a desktop shortcut to the MSSTCP32 file.
Update the desktop shortcut to include the configuration file to
the end to the executable. The target property should look like
C:\Pcmss\msstcp32.exe sancmss.mss for a Message Switch setup
or C:\Pcmss\msstcp32.exe fire.mss for a Fire Agency setup.
Make sure the start directory is C:\Pcmss
Optionally, change the shortcut's icon to the CADSCRN.ICO
icon file.
Using Notepad, edit the dispterm.mss or the
mssterm.mss file. The TCP port number and IP address
must be properly entered in this file for the PCMSS software
to make a connection. This information is provided at the time
terminal is setup in the system.
You should now be able to click the desktop shortcut to execute
the software. After a few moments, you should see a connected
message at the bottom of the screen.
In case of trouble, there is a log file created in the C:\PCMSS
directory that may opened with Notepad. This can provide clues as
to why the connection isnot working. The file is named PCMSS.LOG
