- Hundreds (it not more) of Custom CAD Customizations
- Extensive CAD connectivity to remove devices &systems. All these features we custom written in house by RobertBustichi.
- Interface to obtain real-time UPS (uninterruptablepower supply) status. Also has the ability to send commands to theUPS (set time, change operating parameters, etc.).
- Interfaceto the 3COM Palm Pilot VII wireless device. The Palm VIIprovides great connectivity to the CAD system. Features include:Unit status, alpha paging, inquiry/update rosters, open fire station doors, and numerous others.
- Interfaceto the FireHouse Software records system. This interface utilizesthe import feature of FireHouse Software to obtain the CAD records. Additional custom software was utilized for this interface.
- Interfaceto publish CAD Fire Incident data to a web page. This was accomplishedby writing a TFTP (trivial file transfer protocol) driver to send the speciallyformatted CAD to a Microsoft Windows 2000 server utilizing IIS. TheIIS utilizes active server pages to read the formatted CAD data and displayprofessional looking web page.
- Interfaceto web page based alpha numeric paging. Both a Internet and Intranetversion exist. The Intranet version has a drop down box to allowusers to page by name. A mini web server was written for the CADsystem to send and receive HTTP requests. Paging is actually performedby the CAD system, not a external web server or other software.
The interface has been upgraded to support both HTML and WML web browser clients.
**** This is not an endorsement or recommendationof the PRC System/Product(s) ****
- Lynx TechnologiesDigital Map Interface:
- Lynx Technologies has created, under contract withnumerous fire departments, digital maps using AutoCAD. The maps are verydetailed which include streets, addresses, fire hydrants, and buildingplans.
- PRC CAD and the Lynx Map are interfaced and worktogether. CAD will control the display of AutoCAD map. The CAD interfacesoftware was written in house.
- Features include:
- Zoom In/Out
- Pan Left/Right/Up/Down
- An incident type icon is placed on the map when thedispatcher requests a map page via a single function key. This allows aview of multiple working incidents.
- Funding has been approved for this project and wasplaced in operation in June 1997.

- Motorola Radio Consoles:
- 6 CentraComm II Consoles
- The law-enforcement consoles have the ability totransmit over any police frequency within San Mateo County.
- Motorola Mobile Status Terminal (MST)
- Each fire unit is equipped with an eight button MSTunit. The MST is used to transmit unit status from the fire unitto the CAD system.
- Status buttons include: Enroute, Onscene, On Radio,In Quarters, Out of Service and Acknowledged message.
- The MST/CAD system now support the message buttonsavailable in the Spectra radio's to provide an additional eight buttonsthat are jurisdictional specific.
- PositronEnhanced 911 Telephone System:
- Power 911 Intellegent Work Stations
- Positron LineLine Controller
- 24 incoming 911 lines
- 94 incoming (emergency and non emergency) lines
- 4 Satellite OASIS telephone lines
- Digital Paging System:
- The CAD system automatically sends an alpha-numericmessages to Police, Fire, and EMS units upon dispatch.
- Information automatically sent to the digital pagerby the CAD system include:
- Incident number
- Incident type
- Location w/common place name if available
- Cross street(s)
- Thomas Brothers Map Page and Lynx Map Page
- Numerous Fire agencies have installed mobile printersthat are connected to a digital pager.
- The CAD system also supports sending administrativemessages to field units.
- MotorolaUnipage Model 15 paging controller
- CAD Interface port
- 3 dial-in alpha modem ports
- 3 trunk cards for access from touch-tone telephones
- TNPP link to our commercial paging company
- Paging formats include Golay, Pocsag and FLEX. Both numeric and alpha numeric messaging are supported.
- FLEX upgrade was completed 2/10/97.
- Pager model used:
- Sunpro Fire RMSSystem:
- Fully integrated incident transfer from CAD.
- Currently five Fire departments are receiving incidentsvia a network connection.
- San Mateo Communications is currently utilizing theSunpro Message Server (network based) products to transfer CAD incidentdata to local fire agencies.
- The older CADLink (modem based) software has beenretired as of mid 1999.
- Translation function takes care of data matchingbetween CAD and Sunpro.
- Utilizing the Sunpro Message Server allows bi-directionalcommunications between the CAD system and the local fire agency database.
- In addition to sending incident data to the Sunprodatabase, the CAD system is able to query the Sunpro data base. Inquiriesinclude a roster query which updates the CAD roster automatically, personneland premise inquiries.
- ZetronFire Station Alerting Systems:
- Zetron Model 6/26 used for primary station alerting.
- A Printer is connected to each Model 6 which providesan initial. printout including address, cross streets, and incident type.
- Zetron Model 25 used for backup station alerting.
- Both Zetron's are fully integrated with our CAD system.
- CAD will automatically detected a failure with theZetron 26 system and automatically alert the station using the Zetron 25.
- Due to the implementation of FireNet, two additionalModel 26 systems were installed, for a total of three. The CAD systemwas extensively modified to control three independent Model 26 systems. We believe this is the first installation of multiple Model 26's to a singleCAD system.
- Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMS):
- Zetron Model 25 (automatically activated via theCAD upon dispatch).
- HART - Hospital Allocation Resource Tracking:
- Provides computerized hospital emergency room statusthroughout San Mateo County via the Internet.
- Interfaced to the CAD system. When a HART statuschange is received, it is automatically send to the EMS dispatchers. Thiseliminates the need to have access to the primary HART computer.
- Novell Network

- 640 hour playback module for the first 64 channels.Remaining 32 channels have 30 hour playback module.
- Four networked audio playback workstations.
- WhatsUp Gold:
- Excellent TCP/IP Network monitoring tool.
- Will alpha-page system manager when an IP host orservice fails. This is currently used to monitor all our IP basedhardware and software.
- Routers and hubs
- Hosts (VAX'en and Novell Server)
- WWW, Telenet, and FTP servers
- Numerous client PC's and printers
- The WhatsUp Gold has been expanded to monitor CADterminals and all remote interfaces connected to the CAD system (CLETS,paging, 9-1-1, etc.)
- WebDrive:
- Windows 95 Internet utility which allows you to mapalmost any Internet FTP site to a local drive.
- WebTerm:
- Plug-in for Netscape or Internet Explorer web browserthat will provide a VT terminal window that will allow a Telnet sessionto a remote host.
- This software is currently being integrated as partof our Web based CAD access project. Trials have proved very successful.
